Atari Invasion 2k23 completed.

Good morning,   <propaganda> The seventh (official) edition of our commodore club invasion was successful, we occupied the building in the early hours when none of the commodore members were present </propaganda> On Saturday morning at 8.30 we entered 'het Schuurtje' with a small reconnaissance crew to start the build up. As every year, we told everyone we would bring less stuff and - just like all previous years - we failed (some more than others), but I digress. Most of the buildup was done by the time the meeting officially started, however, we were still waiting for the rest of the troops that were being held up for various reasons. The theme for this year 'remakes and demakes' meant that we could sneak in other systems (as long as they would run Atari related games/software), so the vectrex with piTrex was showing off Atari Vector games like Battlezone. The stunt cycle proved to be very picky as to which TV system it would work on. Our 2600 consoles r

We're back!

Another year, Another Invasion The preparations for already the 7th edition of our annual 'Atari Invasion' are slowly ramping up! Our take-over of the HCC Commodore sig meeting has 'Remakes and demakes' as this year's theme. Rest assured we will cover a lot of Atari and Homebrew items this year. Do note that the HCC Commodore sig has found a new home:  'Wijkcentrum Het Schuurtje ', which is located at: Zwanenkamp 1301, 3607NZ Maarssenbroek, The Netherlands.   We plan to change things up and deviate a bit from our standard, but rest assured, there will be games, demonstrations and lots of time for socializing. Want to join in on the fun as part of the crew, let us known. If you just want to take a look around, we will be in 'het Schuurtje' (Zwanenkamp 1301, 3607NZ Maarssenbroek) all day on April 15th 2023. Doors open at 10.00 and close at 16.00. Hope to see you in Maarssen! The Atari Invasion team

Season greetings! The preparations for the first lustrum edition of our annual 'Atari Invasion' are in full swing: #5 is alive! The take-over of the HCC Commodore Club meeting has 'Systems with guides' as working title and as details are still under wraps -in fact they are so secret we do not even know them yet- all we know is that each invader will present his/her system of choice to the crowd. With new additions to the crew, we seem to have all bases covered.  As every year, the museum rack and display cabinet will be present, filled with new/different content. The info-beamer presentation is being updated with new code and content. Support has been added for dynamic updates so we can add and update content during the invasion. Hopefully the cameras for the live stream and time-lapse will stay put during this event, we ordered some new stands to ensure they do. There will be games, demonstrations and lots of time for socializing. Want to join in on the fun as part of

Preparing for the 4th Invasion

Season greetings! The preparations for the 4th annual 'Atari Invasion' of the HCC Commodore Club meeting are in full swing. As we send out updates to the crew, the Invasion plans take shape: celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Atari 8-bit homecomputers will be our main focus. Without spoiling too much details, here are some of the ideas we have for the Invasion: The museum rack and display cabinet will be there as usual. We will take you on a trip through time, with our 'eXperience Locations'. We will have online, multi-platform, multi-user events. Not just the info-beamer screens will show moving pictures and information: our own E.R.I.C. - if time permits - will have a spot amongst Atari 8-bit home computers performing tricks they were never designed for. Ofcourse we will make sure that there is still plenty of space available to play games on Atari computers and emulators. Want to join in on the fun as part of the crew, let us known. If you just wa

Atari Invasion 2k18

Atari Invasion 2k18 On February 17th, at approximately 8.45 the first invader arrived at ' het Trefpunt ' in Maarssen. He was soon joined by the other invaders and at 10.00 the buildup was well underway. By the time the general assembly of members of the HCC Commodore ig was finished, most of the gear was hooked up and the Invasion started. The museum rack was back again. This year we had it filled with our custom Atari homecomputer stands, one with XL computers, the other with XE machines. A light sixer with Quelle's Universum keyboard, a Lynx and 7800 on another shelve and finally an 800 and the Sears Tele-Games. Next to the museum our custom display case was filled with a broad range of home-brew items for the 2600, 7800 and 8bit range of Atari systems. We brought along some binders, books and magazines. The podcast station - an old tablet with the ' retro atari podcast ' app - was not used at all, unfortunately. Something we also didn't put to use wa

The tradition continues

Season greetings! We have started with the preparations for the 3rd annual Atari Invasion of the HCC Commodore meeting. On February 17th 2018 we will again take over 'het Trefpunt' in Maarssen (NL). Not to spoil all the details just yet, here are some of the things you can expect for this edition: Our small museum rack and display cabinet will be there, filled with Ataris, home-brew and more. Plenty of paper items will make their way to Maarssen and perhaps even to your home! If we can convince the right people, we will clear enough space to preserve some of your classic games and other precious software from floppy disks and/or cassettes. Some of us were at Silly Venture  at the beginning of december and participated in the compos. It is only fitting that during the Invasion we will show a couple of demos (old and new) on at least three systems! It won't be just classics that will be present, we plan to show off modern Atari related(!) gear and projects. A
